Very often I have been asked if I have a boat that is light enough to cartop, able to go upriver or across a big lake with a small outboard or trolling motor, easy to portage from one point to another, and yet efficient enough to paddle when going downriver or moving from one fishing spot to another without the need to fire up the outboard. My answer would have been “No” until now. The boat is the Heron squareback canoe from Esquif, Canada.
