Kayak Fishing & Earth Hour @ Batu Dam

Our lakes, rivers and dams aren’t exactly clean. I can see rubbish left behind by irresponsible anglers, picnickers and campers each time I go paddling. As a personal campaign, I have decided I would spare an Earth Hour to remove the rubbish each time I go paddling at these places. I hope you would do the same. All you need are garbage bags and a pair of gloves.

Kayak & SUP Board Testing & Demo

Subang Jaya Lake, Test & Demo (Eco-Sports Unlimited). We will be hosting a kayak and SUP board testing and demonstration event at the Subang Jaya lake on the first Sunday of every month. You will learn some basic paddling techniques and safety tips, and experience the fun of kayaking or stand-up board paddling.

If you are interested, please call 019-3122181 to register for the event. Feel free to call us if you need direction to the Subang Jaya lake. This event is held as per schedule and by appointment only. If weather doesn’t permit, it will be held on the following scheduled Sunday. Please check our Event Calendar or call us to confirm the dates.

Note: Please bring along extra clothes, headwear, sunblock/sunscreen, sunglasses and plenty of water.

Motorised Malibu Mini-X Kayak At Le Tour De Langkawi Show

February 9, 2009 (by Eco-Sports Unlimited). We decided to take part in the Le Tour De Langkawi cycling event which started a couple of days ago. Why promote kayaking in a cycling event? I had the same question before I paid the money for the booth. Well, I was proven right. The response was great. I reasoned, anyone who loves cycling, also loves kayaking. Cycling is an outdoor sport and so is kayaking. Cycling is land-based and works your legs, kayaking is water-based and works your arms. Both are eco-friendly. So, why not do both and enjoy the outdoor.

To make the show more exciting, I decided to rig the Malibu Mini-X with a trolling motor. I fitted the Minn Kota Endura 30 trolling motor at the stern of the Mini-X and converted the tiller to a throttle. Steering is done with a paddle or simply, by dipping one hand in the water.
